A Fond Farewell to My Readers

I feel very sad to think about closing the door on this amazing chapter in my life. What an inspiration and encouragement y’all have been to me! This has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life – to share here with all of you for 10 years online.

I am coming to terms with the fact that I am not going to have tons more time right now or in the foreseeable future. I have been in a new season and I no longer have the 15-30 hours per week needed to devote to continue doing online ministry.

With only a few years left with my children at home, I want to pour into them as much as I can and I want to be here for Greg, as well. They are all looking forward to this change and to me having more time with them.

For now, I believe my calling is to focus on the Lord, prayer, and being here for my husband, my children, my job, and in-person ministry at my church.

It Has Been Such an Honor to Share Life with You Here

I have seen the Lord do countless miracles here in our midst. In myself and in many of you, as well. What a blessed experience to learn and grow together in Christ and to encourage one another, to spur each other on toward love and good deeds.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading and for sharing and being part of this community. Thank you for all the amazing discussions we have had. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for seeking the Lord with all your heart and desiring His best for your life, marriage, and family.

No matter what lies ahead, Jesus truly is the key to real Life, Love, and Peace. I long for everyone to get to experience the blessing of knowing and trusting Him and of discovering His beautiful path and wisdom for our lives, marriages, and families.

I so look forward to meeting all who know Christ when we join together in heaven! I’m thankful that this is not a final goodbye. Just a temporary one. And I hope that I’ll get to see every single one of you in eternity where we can rejoice together forever. What a wonderful day that will be!

I pray the Lord’s blessings, leading, wisdom, power, and healing over each of you and your marriages, husbands, and children. May God direct us and give us ears to hear. May He empower and equip us to be faithful to Him and to be a blessing to those around us, shining a bright light in this dark world to draw people to Jesus and eternal life.

May we cling to His love, truth, and powerful Word. May we yield ourselves fully to the Lordship of Christ in every area of our lives and trust Him no matter what may come. Knowing He is our Good and Faithful Shepherd and He knows how to protect, guide, and provide for us until we reach Home. May we abide in Him and may His Spirit produce much fruit that will last in each of our lives.

My Plans for This Site

I am planning to keep the site up so you can still read through all the posts.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Eph. 3:20-21

Share

If you’d like to share what this site has meant to you, how you are doing, prayer requests, or anything else with me and the ladies here, this is your opportunity!

I will try to respond to all the comments as I can. It may take a few days. Thanks for your patience!

Books

My books are still available on Amazon, Christian Book, and Barnes and Noble online.

  • The Peaceful Wife
  • The Peaceful Mom

If you’d like to see the journey I took and the things the Lord showed me in His Word to help you on your journey to trust and know Christ more, to move toward a healthier marriage, or to have a stronger foundation spiritually as a wife and mom, I invite you to check these out.

Reminder – For any wife who is experiencing abuse or dealing with extreme situations in your marriage, please reach out to trusted counselors preferably who have experience with the issues you are facing. My books/blog posts are not written from the perspective of a wife dealing with abuse, narcissism, serious mental illness, or danger to herself or her children. My writings are from the perspective of a wife with a strong personality and a husband who tended to be quiet but who was not vicious or violent at all.

Other Resources

Some other sites that may be a blessing (be sure to compare anything any human author writes to sound doctrine in Scripture):

Proverbs31.org – for wives and moms.

Reviveourhearts.com – for women, wives, and moms.

Gotquestions.org – A great place to look up almost any question you can imagine about the Bible, faith, and faith-related questions about our world and culture today.

OpenBible.info – A place to search for verses about a topic.

And the most important of all, The Bible! God’s Word is the only ultimate source of real truth, hope, and abundant life now and in eternity.

  1. I will miss you and your insights. You gave me hope and light during my difficult challenges in marriage.

    1. Lily,

Thank you so much for sharing. Praying for the Lord’s wisdom and leading for you and healing for your marriage.

      Blessings, dear sister!

  2. I can’t begin to tell you what a blessing you’ve been to me. You started my journey towards learning respect and submission when I was newly single, in a quest to be a good wife again. You helped through my second marriage that ended up being toxic and abusive. You’ve helped me grow in my current marriage where I am living out godly womanhood with a husband who loves the Lord. You have inspired me to share what I’ve learned about what submission is, and what it is not, in my own online ministry using social media.

I pray that we can stay in touch, because you are a very big part of my life and heart, but I also understand if those avenues aren’t available to you right now.

I will continue to pray for you, and for the wives that are searching and hurting and growing towards godliness. Thank you for being obedient to the Lord and being a wonderful example and teacher.

    You are so dearly loved!

    1. Melissa Smith,

I’m very glad to hear that you are doing well. It is wonderful to hear from you, sweet sister!

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.

      I’ll be in touch!

      Much love in Christ.

  3. I will miss your site I feel that you are a trusted friend thank you for being such a blessing to me!

    1. Jenell Jones,

It has been one of the greatest blessings of my life to get to share here. It is an answer to my prayers if God has used this site to encourage you.

      Much love in Christ!

      1. I only came across your site this week! I needed encouragement that reconciliation could happen in my marriage. And reading others stories- brings hope. I have given it all to God and try my best to walk everyday in joy with Him even though my heart is shattered. I try to remember that I need only pursue God and leave my husband in the most capable hands ever. He loves him infinitely more than I ever could. The peace that overwhelms me when I write that. I know one day He will have me use my pain for a purpose- I am looking forward to that! So even now I will continue to praise Him in my storm and give Him all the glory. Many blessings to you and your family. Many people are searching for hope – for God…despite what the algorithms may say and they will find your site and be blessed!

        1. Talitha,

Aw! It is so wonderful to meet you! I’m so glad that being here, even just for this week, has been an encouragement and given you hope. And that you were able to find this place in spite of algorithms. Ha!

Yes, millions and millions of women need hope. And I pray they will find it in Jesus.

I pray that this site will continue to be a blessing. I have videos, too, on my YouTube channel, “April Cassidy,” if that might also be helpful.

Praying for the Lord’s healing for you and your husband and for His provision, leading, and miracles. I’m so thankful that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Much love to you, dear sister!

  4. Thank you so much for all you have done and shared to help women be peaceful. you are such a great teacher and role model in everything that you do and even how you are handling this chapter and every chapter of your life. thank you for changing my life. it’s sad to see you go, but you have given sooooooo much! blessings to you and your family. love in christ! see you one day!

    1. Monica Boone,

I had no idea when I started on this journey that God would allow me to share the things He did in my life to help others. He really blew my mind with that!

I can’t possibly keep all of these treasures to myself. And I certainly long to be a blessing by pointing people to Jesus. May He be greatly glorified in all of our lives!

Thank you for sharing, precious sister.

Much love to you! I look forward to meeting you!

  5. I have tears in my eyes when I read this. Although I haven’t come to your site much in the past couple years, several years ago you were not only a source of support but one of immense teaching on how to be the best wife possible. I went thru a horrific divorce and continue to struggle with that relationship as one of co-parenting. But what I learned going thru that was what has lead me to a God-filled relationship with a man who honors me as I honor him. Thank you for all of your wisdom. It has truly been a work of Jesus and the Holy Spirit!

    1. Teresa,

It is so good to hear from you. I am very sorry that things didn’t work out with your husband. It is beyond painful when a marriage doesn’t work out. But we can only control our side and what a blessing to know that God can even use our painful, difficult seasons and relationships to bring good into our lives.

I love that you are doing a lot better now.

Praying for the Lord’s continued healing and wisdom.

      Much love to you!

  6. I will greatly miss your posts. You have been a great source of wisdom and light for myself and my marriage, when I needed it so badly. I found your site and book years ago, and have so appreciated all that it has been to me, and ultimately my family.
Enjoy all the extra time with your family. Soak it all up…I’m finding it flies by waaaayyy too fast.

    1. Candice,

Aw… Thank you for sharing. I’m honored that the Lord has used me in a small way to reach you and help you. He is so good.

Thank you for the encouragement, love, and understanding.

      Much love to you, sister!

  7. April, this post made me cry! I am so sad! I am going to miss you so much. I certainly understand that this is the Lord’s calling for this chapter of your life. But it still hurts to say goodbye (for now). I have been following your blog for many years. Your words and wisdom have been a treasure to me. You helped my rocky marriage to find stability. And you also helped me to have a closer walk with Jesus, and to find peace in my life. I am so very grateful for the spiritual guidance you have poured into my life.

I would love to be able to access your posts, if possible. I thought WordPress had a free option? Do you think you could convert your site to that? That might be the easiest thing to do. It would be awesome if your posts could be put into a print book and/or ebook. But since you have over a thousand posts, I don’t know if that is really feasible. I pray that you are able to find the right answers on how to proceed.

I am glad that you and your family are well. Although I am sorry about your knee injury and your asthma. I will be praying for you and your family. Sending lots of hugs and love to you, my friend. May God bless you and your family always. ♥️

    1. Bridget A. Thomas,

I have really agonized over this decision for a long time. It was such a hard thing to decide to do. Y’all have been my community and my girls! We have sharpened each other and this has been such a special place.

You have been a huge blessing to me, too. Teaching me more about gratitude, such a blessed discipline and attitude.

I’m so glad that the posts have been a blessing. That is an answer to my prayers.

WordPress has a free option, yes. But that one can’t handle a blog as massive as this one or one that has its own domain name.

Yes, I hope to find a way to keep the domain and all of the URLs so it’s always easy to find everything.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.

Sending you a huge hug back and all my love!

  8. I have to say that I will miss your wisdom on here, but you truly helped save me 8 years ago. I found your blog when my husband asked for a divorce after 23 years of marriage. From your site, I came to know Jesus, understand the Bible, understand what it means to be a peaceful wife, mom, person. For 5 years I fought to try to salvage my marriage. Even though in the end the divorce did come, I will NEVER regret the learning, the growth, the protection and healing you helped me with to learn how God is so crucial in our lives. I will ALWAYS be grateful to the new friends I have made even from this site. I will one day meet irl my friend Belle from Austrailia, and all of you in Heaven. You really touched so many lives with your blog and brought the light of God into our lives. You offered hope, mercy, empathy and live to people you didn’t know, but felt for. God is so very proud of you, his good and faithful servant. I have your 2 books, I try to teach what I’ve learned from you as well, and I live a life I hope God can be proud of as well. You are truly my saving angel, April, and I thank you for all you have done. I pray God looks over you and your family and continues to guide you in this life. You may be ending your blog, but I sure hope it stays out there in some form. It’s an invaluable resource of work. I am sire you helped thousands of people, but you sure did guide me to our savior at a time I thought my world was ending and needed a miracle the most. All my love and hugs to you, April. And deep gratitude and thanks for all you have done… love…LMSdailly115.

    1. Jessica Lynn Jones,

Aw!!!!! LMSdaily115!!!! It brings tears of joy to my eyes to hear from you.

I remember that first conversation we had vividly. If I recall, you were on your way home from vacation when you found my blog and reached out.

So many miraclesa nd answers to my prayers.

I’m honored to have been able to walk beside you during that dark chapter and to be able to point you to the healing and hope in Jesus.

We all need someone to be the hands and feet of Jesus in those hard moments.

Yes, I hope to keep it up so that women can refer back to it and glean from it if they would like to.

Much love to you, my precious sister and friend!

  9. You mentioned about search engines. Well, this how I found you. And in the right timing!! Not only did you introduce me to your 2 books but I purchased the Love and Respect book. You may never see this post, but I want you to know that your work and your work through the Lord has greatly affected not only my life but my marriage. All my best to you. Well done good and faithful servant.

    1. Anissa,

Aw! I am so thankful you found this place and that it was a blessing.

Praising God with you for all that He has done, is doing, and will continue to do in your life.

Blessings and much love in Christ!

  10. April, Your posts were like fresh air to me and I thank you for the time, effort and talents that you shared with us all. You will be missed, but I am thankful for the words and prayers you gave to us when we needed them most. God has used you to reach so many hurting people and for that I am most grateful. May God bless you and your beautiful family.

    1. Becky,

It has been one of the greatest joys of my life to share here. A true labor of love.

Thank you for taking the time to share your sweet thoughts and for the encouragement.

      Much love in Christ!

  11. Hello…I am sorry to see you leaving, but I completely understand. Blogging and maintaining an online presence is huge, not to mention costly. I would love to have access to all of your posts, but know there will probably be a cost. I have free blogs on blogspot, but don’t know how to transfer from one host to another. Perhaps all of the posts child be downloaded to an e-book and people could access the e-book. Again, more work and time. I’m excited about the next chapter in your life and praise God for your in-person ministry at church. YouTube is a wonderful resource, but editing the videos and storing everything is unpredictable and another cost, though the live aspect could be an easier free option. Facebook live is another option, which is free. I have a friend who has a weekly FB ministry and it has worked out for her. I do them as well, but for my work. Reach out of you have qts. Sending love and prayers for God’s leading and provision.

    1. Ashley Rae Osier,

It’s wonderful to hear from you! Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Yes, it’s possible that it could be preserved in an e-book or PDF. I’m hoping first to keep it online as a blog. I’m sure the Lord will give me wisdom about exactly what to do.

Yes, blogging and keeping online ministry sites going is very time-consuming. And it definitely costs money.

Because my blog is so huge, it probably can’t go to a free site unless it is a static site. But that would be neat if it could!

At this time, I am planning to leave my YouTube up, April Cassidy. It has over 200 videos. Yes, it easily takes 4 hours for me to make one 15 minute video. I also have a Peaceful Wife Blog FB page. I may leave it up, as well. I will see and seek the Lord’s leading about that, too.

I am now doing blog post writing and SEO optimization for work for clients, too. I enjoy it. But to do it well… it’s a huge commitment, for sure.

      Blessings! Much love to you!

  12. April, your book and your blog have truly been life changing! The way God has used you to speak truth in such an easy to understand way about what it means to be a Godly wife was exactly what I needed. It opened my eyes to my own sin as a type A bossy wife and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. It’s your sweet gentle convictions that have continually inspired me to keep on this journey in learning to respect my husband. And although bumpy at times, what a joy it has been to push nearer and nearer to God’s design for our marriage and see the beautiful fruits that come from it. God has used you in a mighty way and I’m excited for any new ministry He calls you too. It will be a joy to talk in heaven someday!

In terms of keeping your site running… I’m curious what website host you’re currently using? I run a food blog and my site costs are actually very low through cloudways. If you do want to keep your site running but need advice on switching to a cheaper host I’d be happy to help 🙂

    1. Emily Meyer,

Thank you so much for sharing a bit of your story. What a blessing to hear what God has done! I praise the Lord with you and celebrate with you!

Yes, there is always more to learn and room to grow in Christ as long as we are living in this world.

I’m using WP Engine because it is more secure than a lot of other WordPress options. Hoping to move it to a static site so it will take up less space and not be able to get hacked. That is interesting about Cloudways. I’ll check it out and ask you if I think it may be a good fit. Thank you for the suggestion.

I’m so thankful that God allowed me to be a little part of His work in your life. What an answer to my prayers.

Much love in Christ, beautiful sister!

  13. Thankyou for all the years you’ve devoted to this ministry. You will be missed. Oh I hope there’s a way you can freeze the website so it can be a wonderful source of information for many, for years more. Xxoo

    1. Bonny,

It has been my honor to share here. I will miss y’all, too!!!

I am confident I will find a good solution soon. Hopefully, it will not even be noticeable to my readers and be a super smooth transition.

      Much love and many blessings!

  14. You will be missed. I very much appreciate the time, heart, effort and prayer that you have put in to help women. Your posts helped me when I was struggling before I realized how long and how hard the struggle was going to be and I am so thankful. I would love to be able to access your posts still if possible. I have read so many of them countless times. Many times they are a good reminder of where I am trying to be as a wife, mom and woman that desires to grow closer to the Lord and be more Christlike. I pray this next chapter of your life is enjoyable. Thank you so much!

    1. Andrea,

It is so great to hear from you! It’s my honor to be able to share here and I am grateful to God that He allowed me to be part of your journey.

It’s funny, as I go back and look at the books and posts, they are still an encouragement to me, too. Ha!

God is so good to us.

Much love and blessings, sweet friend!

  15. Thank you for your dedication to the Lord, to your husband, to your children and to all of us who have benefited over the years from your hard work.
You are an inspiration to me as well as to my husband of 34 years.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you! I look forward to meeting you in glory!

    1. Gail Gargani,

It has been a joy and a blessing to serve here with you and all the ladies.

Thank you for the encouragement, prayer, and love. I look forward to that day with great anticipation!

      Much love in Christ!

  16. Thank you for sharing your story with us and encouraging us to have a better relationship with God, our husbands, our families, and others. God’s blessings to you.

  17. I think you are making the right decision to step away while your children are still at home. I hope when you are an “older woman of grown children” you may find yourself with time to be a Titus 2 mentor to young moms! 🙂 I struggle with not getting involved in the issues and news of the day while I am homeschooling and have young children. Lori Alexander has been a great help in keeping me oriented towards the home and being a good wife and mother. I think women are still going to need voices like yours out there when and if you find you have time to do that. Praying for you!

    1. sahmpaw,

The last two years have been tough on our teens. I want to give them all the support I can as they are preparing for launch into a world that needs Jesus so very desperately.

Yes! When our youngest is in college in a few years, I may find I have more time and perhaps the Lord will open a door for me to return or to start something new.

Thank you for your prayers. I want so much to be as close to the Lord as possible and to walk in the very center of His will. I don’t want to miss anything He wants to do in me or through me. He is SOO good!

Yes, we all need strong Titus 2 mentors in our lives as wives and moms. I’m so thankful to have this opportunity to do that here for 10 years.

Praying the Lord’s peace, wisdom, and blessing over you and your family for His glory.

      Much love!

  18. April you have authentically shared your journey and so much wisdom that the Lord has given you. What an excellent resource you have been for so many women. However, I think that your example to seek the will of God for your life, your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and your example to put the Lord your husband and family first even above ministry has been just as valuable! The Lord bless you and keep you and make his face shine upon you- Karen Quiroz

    1. Karen Quiroz,

I wish I had time to “do it all.” But I truly don’t. Yes, I have to make a choice. And my ministry to my husband and children must come first.

Thank you for this encouragement. It is a blessing to me.

      Much love to you!

  19. Dear April, God has used you! You have been a willing vessel and I am so very thankful that you were there almost ten years ago when I was searching for a way to find peace in my life as a wife. What a difference finding your site meant to me! My husband and I celebrated 30 years together in November! Truly a miracle how He uses the Body to help one another. Yes! I can’t wait to see you in eternity!

    1. Dianne Hammer,

Wow. We’ve been together coming on 10 years! That is amazing.

Congratulations on your 30th anniversary! And praise God!

Thank you for sharing. Yes, may we each be ready and willing to be used to edify the Body however the Lord leads.

I look forward to that meeting, precious sister!

      Much love!

  20. April, I only found you and your ministry a few months ago. In that time, I have reconciled with my husband, from whom I was separated for many years. He repeatedly tells me how much peace I bring to his life. Thanks in large part to you and your sharing your experience have I been able to accomplish this, by the goodness of God and not of my own strength. I am currently reading the Peaceful Wife and also have the Peaceful Mom, even though my children are adults now. May God’s blessings be upon you and your beautiful family.

    1. Cheryl,

Wow. Your story brings tears of joy to my eyes. Praise God! Thank you for sharing. What an honor to get to be a little part of God’s work in your life.

May He continue to bless and heal you both and use you for His glory!

      Much love in Christ!

  21. April, you’ve made such an impact and valuable contribution to women all over the world with your insights into godly marriage and the role and character of a wife – so many ‘light bulb moments’ for many! May more women become ambassadors for the truth and rally the cause, and may the Lord bless you abundantly as you head into a new season of life and continue to glorify Jesus in your life!

    1. Aliisonjoyforever,

It’s so great to hear from you! Aw!

Thank you for sharing this encouragement and yes! May the Lord raise all of us up to be ambassadors for Christ and His beautiful, healing ways in our lives as women, in marriages, and in families. May we walk in His Spirit and truth and love. And may He empower us to be faithful and fruitful for His kingdom.

      Thank you for the blessing.

Praying for God’s leading for you, as well, and for all of us.

      Much love!

  22. Your blog helped me when I was a struggling to find out how to be a Christian wife. I have your books and your ministry truly impacted my life. Thank you for your time and energy. I understand that it’s time for you to move on from this chapter and I bid you a fond farewell!

    1. Megan,

Thank you so much for sharing. What a blessing to find out that God has been working in your life and that I got to be a little part of that.

May the Lord richly bless you and empower you to walk in His wisdom and His path for you.

      Much love in Christ!

  23. My husband bought me your book a few years ago and from your book I found your blog. You have been such a helpful encouragement and have helped me identify areas that I was sinning. Thank you.

I really hope there is a way to keep all your posts and YouTube videos available! But, I do not have any suggestions.

    1. Christine Smith,

Thank you for sharing a bit of your story. I pray the Lord’s blessings over you and your marriage.

YouTube is easy to keep up, thankfully. I’m sure the Lord will help me find the best way to try to preserve the blog.

      Much love!

  24. Hello April, I appreciate your blog and dedication so much. Id like to discuss the future of the site. I can help with making it much lower cost, paying for the hosting myself, taking over in the ministry, and reaching more wives. My email is marygreencny@gmail.com please reach out.

    1. Mary Green,

You are most welcome, dear sister.

Thank you for your generous offer. Wow! I just sent you an email.

      Much love in Christ!

  25. Dear April,

In 2014 your peaceful wife site saved my marriage and my mind. Your words and example helped the Holy Spirit to transform me and my marriage by the renewal of my mind!

I am so grateful you have been such a willing, humble, patient vessel for God to help women on their journey. You gave us the model and guided us and encouraged us in such practical day-to-day ways. I also bought your book and directed many women to your site.

THANK YOU, April! Two words seem so small for the massive gift you have given.

God will not be outdone in your generosity! He had more blessings and plans for you. I am very excited for you!

I will continue to pray for you and your family.

    1. Renee,

It’s great to hear from you!

How I praise God for all He has done in your life. What an answer to my prayers.

The greatest thank you I could receive is to see women living wholeheartedly for Christ, embracing His Word, filled with His Spirit, and being faithful to the Lord.

That brings me more joy than anything!

Thank you for the encouragement and prayers.

      Much love in Christ!

  26. Hi April,
You have helped me and my marriage so much over the past 8 years. I go back to your blog often and re-read posts when I am struggling with something. The world needs your blog! There is nothing else like it. It’s a counter-cultural Godly perspective. Please keep the blog static so that it can be found. I use it as a reference all the time and point people to it. Thank you!

    1. Hyun Min,

I’m so humbled and honored that the Lord has been willing to use me to bless you. Thank you for sharing a bit of your story with me.

Yes, that is why I started it, because I didn’t find a resource that was what I really needed. So when Greg asked me to share what I had learned with other wives, I was so excited to get to share here.

I hope to find a great way to make the blog static and to preserve it so everyone can still visit.

      Much love in Christ!

  27. I found you in 2014 when my hubby asked for divorce. God used you to see my own sin in my marriage and used your blog to understand how to change my dance how i related to my hubby. God ripped so much sin out of my life. Your videos helped me to learn a new language on how to say things to my hubby.-so opposite of how i would have sinfully originally said it. God saved my marriage of 30 years now this year! He gets all the glory! Thank you for standing in the gap and saying the hard things that i needed to hear. May God bless you in your journey and thank you again for starting me on my journey of showing me what respect looks like towards my husband. Truly their language.

    1. Stella,

I am so honored to get to be part of your story and God’s work in your life. I love that. “How to change my dance how I related to my hubby.” Yes! That is such a great description.

You sound a lot like me. What a joy to get to share these treasures with you. I praise God for what He has done, is doing, and will do in your life and marriage.

There were so few voices sharing these life-giving truths when I started my journey.

It has been a joy to share here with you.

Much love in Christ, dear sister!

  28. Hi April, you were there for me 15 years when I hit a crisis in my marriage and truly helped me be a peaceful wife, and I can happily say we are celebrating our 33 years together today! I will pray for you and your family as you step away from online ministry, and also that somehow you will be able to keep your site up because it is so helpful. ♥️ Jennifer

    1. Jennifer,
Oh, my goodness! Happy anniversary!!!!! How exciting. I am celebrating and praising God with you.

I’m so thankful to have been able to walk beside you during that difficult time. We all need a little encouragement and help from other believers.

Thank you for your prayers, that is such a beautiful gift.

I will do my best to keep the site up.

      Much love in Christ!

  29. April, early in my marriage your blog was a saving grace for me! THANK YOU! I’m sad to see you go but forever grateful for the time and effort you put into each post. It is sad in the current time women especially married women are leaning into more of Jesus as their foundation for marriage but I pray that will change and families will once again be United in Jesus by post like yours again!!!! I pray God will bless you and your family!

Ps. Married 15 years! We are stronger and more respectful now more then ever!!!! Much love

    Whitney Walden

    1. Whitney,

You are SO VERY WELCOME. How I praise God for what He has done in your life and marriage. That brings such joy to my heart. My heart will always be with each of you and all of my readers.

May the Lord bless you and your family, as well. May He lead you for His glory.

Congratulations! I am so thrilled that your marriage is much stronger and that you have celebrated 15 years together now. Woohoo!

      Much love!

  30. You have been a blessing. I hope and pray you can find a way to leave all your material accessible for others. ❤

  31. April, your authentic, vulnerable, godly example has been a huge blessing to me. Like many others have said here, I found you when I was desperate because my world was falling apart. My marriage was ending and I needed to learn all I could about putting God first and trusting Him with the outcome. You were a lifesaver, ministering straight to my heart when I most desperately needed it. I would pour over your posts, some of them numerous times, wrestling with God and learning to focus on my own sin (over which I had control), rather than the numerous obvious sins of my spouse. (Serenity Prayer)

I fully understand why God’s guiding you to make this decision. Time with your children at home is precious. And time with Greg!!

However I don’t fully understand why it would have to be the end of your online ministry. As long as your posts live on in some form online, women will be incredibly blessed by them. They won’t know whether you wrote the posts recently or a long time ago, and that won’t matter because they will still be incredibly relevant. You really wouldn’t need to add any more posts because as you said, you’ve already written on so many topics. There could be another woman to whom you pass on the monitoring of comments, so that the comment section could live on and women could benefit from that feature. Or you could just turn the comments off or move to a site where there wasn’t a comment feature. I know nothing about tech, but if you were considering your reach and search engines, moving somewhere totally different and reposting the content might erase all of the Internet‘s knowledge about the many clicks and visits you have already received. I have thought at numerous times about donating to your ministry but never actually did. I’m sorry. I think I didn’t really know how. But when I think about the value of your writing and the value it has been to me, I would be more than happy to make a donation which could help support ongoing costs.

I think I have to accept that even if all of your writing disappeared today, the impact it’s already made on countless women’s lives is victory enough. But it seems like a shame if it were to all disappear since all the work and writing it has already been done. I am praying right now that God provide you someone who is wise with the tech and can advise you. And perhaps people like some of us who have been so blessed can also volunteer with whatever time might be necessary to preserve your content.

I know God looks on you and is so incredibly pleased that you have been a warrior for his kingdom in such a profound and humble and vulnerable way. Enjoy your children! Enjoy your husband! And know that you have done incredibly well, good and faithful servant!!!

    1. Jen,

What an incredible story! Thank you for sharing. I could never have imagined all the lonely nights when I was in tears over my own marriage that one day God would use me to comfort other wives and help them find His way. What an honor for me to be able to walk beside you in your difficult time.

I love the serenity prayer! And focusing on controlling myself and my life with God’s help rather than trying to control other people has brought such freedom!

I’m hoping to be able to move everything, including the domain (www.peacefulwife.com) and all the URLs for all the blog posts to a static site where people can still find everything but it won’t cost so much per month. That way, people can still find it through the search engines. But it will also be un-hackable and maintenance-free. I think I will be able to do that, I just need to find someone who can help me move things and figure out the best way to go.

The best donation to my ministry is just seeing wives following Christ and honoring Him. There is no greater joy than that for me!

Thank you so much for sharing life with me and for posting comments.

You are a blessing to me!

      Much love, dear sister!

  32. God bless you and thank you April.

I may suggest medium.com to archive your blog posts. I can help setup and create your posts there.

    Peace be with you. Michelle
    @michpellettier on Twitter

    1. Michelle,

You are so very welcome. Thank you for sharing.

I’ll have to take a look at that site. I appreciate the recommendation!

      Much love in Christ!

  33. I consider you a certified expert—in reflecting, thinking and acting in a values-suffused way in marriage and in life. Thank you for your writings which have benefited me greatly even though I am someone you might consider an unlikely reader. I wish you the best in your next season.

  34. I want to truly thank you for what you have done. I believe the Lord used the knowledge and insight in your book to save my marriage. He opened my eyes through your book. I had no idea how disrespectful and hurtful I was being to my husband, completely unintentionally none the less! I’m still not perfect, far from it, but I am aware now and trying and praying all the time to be a more peaceful, Godly wife.
Thank you for your guidance and for sharing your spiritual knowledge. I will be forever grateful, as I’m sure my husband is also.

    1. Tara,

Thank you so much for sharing! None of us will be perfect this side of heaven, but in Jesus, we can grow and mature and learn and walk more and more in His Spirit and love and wisdom.

I’m overjoyed to get to be a little part of what God is doing in your life.

      Much love to you!

  35. It has been an honor and a privilege to walk alongside you since I found your website almost 10 years. It has been a delight to know someone who holds my same values regarding marriage. I am thankful that we created an autonomous friendship that will last beyond the length of your online presence.

I do hope you will be able to find a way for women to continue to access your blogs.

    Love and Hugs Sweet Seester!
    Susan

    1. Susan Bates,

Thank you, my friend! I feel the same way about you.

I am very hopeful that I will find a good solution to keep the blog up and easily accessible.

Much love and thank you for all the prayers and encouragement!

  36. April,
You have been such a blessing. I have utilized all of your resources: YouTube, Books and blog. I pray you have peace with Gods leading and also pray that your online resources will be able to be preserved. I started my journey in 2017 when I found you on YouTube and it was the first I ever learned about biblical marriage/ womanhood. In 5 years myself and my husband have grown in the Lord. I still recommend your book to ladies.. I thank you April for all you have done.

    1. Jen,

What a blessing to get to hear about what the Lord has done in your life. Thank you for sharing!

Isn’t it crazy and wonderful how God could take my mess and use it to bless my sisters? That is just like Him.

So thankful we have been able to share some of His treasures and grow together.

      Much love!

  37. Oh my goodness I’m so sad to hear you’re leaving the blogging world! Like many of the other woman’s comments, I too found your blog years ago when my marriage was extremely rocky and God used you to help show me that I had a huge sin in my life of trying to control my husband and my household in ways that were not honoring to Him. You had done a YouTube video and someone else I followed on social media interviewing you and that began the unveiling of me realizing I was not a peaceful wife. You have taught so many of us so much over the years of how to live a God honoring life and marriage and raising kids. I love your books and I still resort back to them from time to time when I feel myself backsliding into old habits. I too would love to be able to continue to have access to your blogs. I actually suggest your blogs quite frequently to other sisters in Christ when they share a marital issue they’re experiencing that I remember you writing incite on. Please keep us updated where we can find those resources if you’re able, I agree publishing them would be fantastic as a book or an ebook. I’ll ask some of my techy friends to see if they can help too!

    1. Kristen Engelman,

This has been a really tough decision for me. Y’all hold an extremely special place in my heart.

I’m so thankful to hear what the Lord has done in your life and marriage and that I got to be a little part of His miracles. Wow!

I still look at my books and old posts sometimes, too. It’s good to have reminders and refreshers on these important things. 🙂

We all have to watch for backsliding and temptation. And we all need encouragement, at times, too.

If things go the way I am praying they will, you will not notice much difference and the site will still be here at this address and the posts will all be up just like always.

But if I have to do something else or decide to make a book of it instead or something, I will definitely let everyone know.

Thank you for your encouragement and help!

      Much love!

  38. Hi April I’ll be honest that I cried a little bit when I read this post. You have been such a blessing to me and a breath of fresh air, I’ll miss knowing that you aren’t here anymore. I do of course understand you are in a new season of life and I truly wish you God’s richest blessings. Thanks to you and links you provided to other my marriage is in a much better place than it would have been and I love my husband more now.
I hope the site can stay up but wouldn’t want it to be a continual cost for you. I’m still planning to purchase your book. Much love in Chris sweet sister x

    1. Beth Mclaughlin,

I don’t like this part either! It’s icky to say goodbye. That’s why I kept hoping I would eventually have more time and could continue. But I am so thankful for the 10+ years I have been able to have here and for all the miracles the Lord has done and the marriages that have been touched.

It has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and sadness and encouragement.

How I praise God with you for His goodness and for how much better your marriage is doing.

I feel sure we will figure out a good way to keep the site going that is lower maintenance for me. I’ve seen some options, I just can’t actually work them out myself. Ha!

I pray the book will be a blessing.

Much love to you, precious sister!

  39. Hello and goodbye. I found your site in the midst of heartache in 2015/16. My husband and I were struggling, he was having an emotional and physical affair and after separation he decided to file for divorce. I never felt the Holy Spirit saying to move on or accept this and prayed. Prayed through your posts when I didn’t know what to pray, prayed through scripture, prayed simply “be in the details Lord.” Through the Lord’s grace and mercy after almost 2 years His work was not done and we reconciled and have a better marriage now than ever before. Thank you for taking time to write, post and pray. The personalness of your post set than apart from bigger ministry sites. May the Lord continue to use you and your posts. Enjoy being a peaceful mom and wife. Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you in ways you may never know.

    1. Nina,

Aw! I’m so sorry that you went through such an incredibly painful time. But how I thank and praise God with you that you have a better marriage now and that the Lord has healed you both. Wow!

Thank you very much for sharing your story. What a blessing!

      Much love in Christ!

  40. Thank you so much for sharing like you have. Your videos on YouTube directed me to this site and I’ve loved it ever since. I have your books as well and I’m so thankful for the real life perspective that you have shed on the life of a God-fearing, submissive, wife. I pray you can keep your website up and your social media sites if nothing more than for reference. And maybe sometimes you can do an update video on YouTube if you ever get that up and going again. I’m sure I can speak for the other women here in saying that we love you and appreciate all you’ve done here. I’ll be praying for you and your future ventures with your family and living life out for the Lord. God bless you sister!

    Love in Christ-
    Maudie S.

    1. Maudie Smith,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for the encouragement and prayers.

I’m grateful that the Lord used the blog post, books, and videos to be a blessing.

      Much love, dear sister!

  41. April! Thank you so much for following God’s lead and listening to His voice as you shared in your ministry. You have been an invaluable resource to me. My marriage has always been good, praise God, but it is stronger! As through God, you led me to see things I did not see that would have hurt my marriage had I continued in those ways. I would love for you to stay on Instagram 😉, but totally understand if you need to let that go! I notice some of my friends started following you when I shared some of your posts. May God bless you and yours abundantly! I look forward to meeting you when we get there!

    Nina

    1. Nina Stidham,

I’m so glad to hear from you! Thank you very much for sharing your heart and thoughts with me.

Praise God for all He has done in your marriage. That is beautiful!

      Much love in Christ!

  42. God bless you for the wise and God inspiring lessons and advice. You have shared your life with us. God has something g great for you and all of us. Good luck and thank you so much! ❤🙏

    Nic

  43. Thank you April for your posts. I appreciated the thought, detail, and Scripture backing that went in to each post. Your articles were helpful to me. God bless you and your sweet family. They are blessed because you follow the Lord wholeheartedly! Laura

    1. Laura,

You are most welcome. Those were my goals with each post. I wanted to stay true to Scripture and to go deep into the subjects, as well as share practical ideas that might be a blessing.

      Thank you for sharing.

Much love to you, dear sister!

  44. Ty for all you’ve given everyone April. Even though I’m a guy it has helped me very much. It’s taught me what to expect and help achieve with my wife. Unfortunately she choose to fool around several times so we are now permanently separated but because I’ve learned that she wasn’t being a Christian wife and had no intentions of doing so I’m ok with it.
I will use your teachings if I ever find another person as guidance to help her/us on that road.
I hope whatever you have planned in your walk continues to bring you peace and joy.

IF you would like help converting your site feel free to reach out to me. There are several options depending upon how you want the site to look & behave. http://hallhome.us if you want to reach me.

    1. Bear,

I’m so glad that the posts were a blessing. But it is heartbreaking to hear that she chose the path she did.

Praying for the Lord’s healing, blessing, and leading in your life. May He give you His strength and peace to continue following Him and may He help you find His glorious purpose and beauty in your future.

Thank you very much for your offer to help and the contact info.

      Blessings!

  45. Thank you for giving so much over the years! I have been reading your posts on and off for several years, and I appreciate the Christ centered point of view tremendously. I just want you to know, that I found this site very helpful in times of need, just as many others, and I wish you and your family nothing but peace, health, and happiness! I do hope that you find a way to preserve it for for those of us, old and new, who may need it in the future😊. With love always 💕 – Your sister in Christ

    1. B,

You are most welcome. I’m so grateful to the Lord that He used this site to be a blessing to you.

I think I am on track to finding a good option to preserve the site.

Much love in Christ, dear sister!

  46. April, thank you for this site, your books, your ministry, wisdom and encouragement. I would absolutely love to be able to access this site (or another version of it) still; your searchable topics and links to related posts have been really valuable. God reached me and worked a miracle in me through a really difficult time in my marriage, all starting with your book The Peaceful Wife and continuing with this site. Thank you for your honesty and your heart to follow the Lord.

    1. Laura,

You are most welcome, dear sister. I’m so glad that this place and the books have been a blessing. What a wonderful answer to my prayers!

I praise God and celebrate with you for all He has done!

      Blessings!

  47. After two divorces, a 3-year relationship with a narcissist, I began reading Peaceful Wife. I changed my way of thinking and doing and amidst the middle of a pandemic, I met my perfect mate. Married a year ago and sometimes I feel like I am dreaming. I thank God for my husband often and continue to seek His guidance more than I ever have in my life. I saved many peaceful wife blogs in my email and I read several before going to sleep. I’m so thankful for having this blog and book for 3 years in my life. I wish you the best but I am going to miss the encouragement and inspiration I so desperately needed. I would love to have PDFs and/or a way to get to these on a web..or maybe in a devotional book of readings. I would pay for all the posts.

    1. Launa Chamberlin,

Goodness, sounds like quite a journey you have been on! I’m so thankful to hear that you are doing so much better now and that the books and blog posts have been a blessing.

I think I have some direction and will be able to keep the site up so those who still want to read can find the posts.

      Much love in Christ!

  48. Hi April, I first found out about your ministry, website and YouTube videos a couple of years ago and it has been such a huge blessing to me. I have both your books. I got teary and I am so sad to hear that you are going but I understand that it was not an easy decision and your family does come first. Your teaching and posts have been an invaluable resource to me all the way in South Africa and has touched so many women all over the world. I really would appreciate it if you are able to keep the website posts up as I do like to read them again from time to time. Also you have done all this hard work putting it all together over the years , pouring in your love, time and patience. It will still be relevant to many women now and in the future. I hope you are able to find a free website, I use a free website with wix.com for my work but if you want to keep your domain name then I think that is not free but I pray you are able to keep it up somewhere. Perhaps the comments section can be turned off so that the site will be more manageable but posts can still be read as it can be time consuming going through comments, that is just a suggestion though. The seeds you planted will keep bearing fruit. Thank you for sharing your journey with us,for being authentic, humble and backing your posts up with Gods word. May God continue to bless your marriage to Greg and bless your children, restore your health and bless the next chapter of your life. Lots of love to you.

    1. Judy,

It is so wonderful to hear from you! It makes me sad, too. I’m very sorry that you are sad! But I am so thankful you have been here and that the posts have been a blessing. How amazing is it that we can share from across the world even though we’ve never met?

I think we are coming up with a good strategy to keep the site up so you can look through the posts any time.

Right, keeping my domain name, and also the enormity of my site, makes it a bit more complicated.

Thank you so much for sharing. Much love to you!

  49. You will be truly missed but what a blessing to those around you that you will still be able to minister to, and of course your own family. You must do what is right for all of you. I so hope your site, including Facebook, and all the past blogs remain available, I know I’m not done yet and need to continue to learn. You are an EXCELLENT teacher the world needs your wisdom. Thank you for pouring out yourself for sooooooo many hurting people .. I pray much blessings for you and your precious family. Till we meet again Christine

    1. Christine Daugherty,

It’s wonderful to hear from you! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. We all have plenty more room to grow. I know I do. Maybe I’ll have another book to write later or another blog with all the new things. <3

I greatly appreciate your encouragement and prayers. Much love, precious sister!

  50. I am new to your YouTube and blog. I have read so little. Hoping to read more. Praying you keep it up for the few yet searching to change and in need of help. God bless your journey.

    1. Claudia,

Aw! Welcome! I am working out a plan so everything should be available to everyone here on this domain. I pray it will be a blessing.

If you want to ask me anything or have me point you to specific resources or posts, now’s the time to ask!

Much love in Christ, dear sister!

  51. Thank you so much for sharing your insight and Godly wisdom about marriage April. I truly believe that God used you to save my marriage from the path it was going down years ago. At one point, I was actually scared that my marriage was going to end. My husband and I were arguing everyday at one point.
I had no idea why my husband was upset/hurt, then I realized when I read your book how disrespectful and hurtful I was unintentionally being to him… everyday! Since reading your book I now have more of an understanding and it has made a world of difference in my marriage, although I am far from perfect! Thank you for what you have done for me and countless other wives! I pray that God blesses you.

    1. Tara,

I think so many of us have been in that same boat. And so many more wives here in America and around the world don’t even realize that we have been taught to treat our husbands pretty badly by our culture. Then we are shocked that they are upset and hurt. And most of us don’t know what is actually going on.

I’m so thankful that the Lord used the book and blog posts to bless and help to heal your marriage. That is beautiful!!!! Nothing brings me more joy than to see God doing miracles. And He has done so many!!!

Much love in Christ, dear sister!

  52. I am a professional in web hosting and experienced in WordPress. I’d be happy to help you convert this to a static website. My work would be free (but potentially slo — just had a baby), and I’ll help find a low cost place to host it.

    1. Whitney,

Congratulations! How wonderful that you just welcomed a precious baby.

And thank you for your kind offer to help. I think I have someone lined up now.

I hope you can get some rest and enjoy all the snuggles and sweet times with your little one.

      Blessings!

  53. April, My heart broke when I read you no longer feel it is God’s Will for you to continue the Peaceful Wife blog. I literally cried! However, I know there is a season for everything and God will make His Will known for you in this next chapter of your life. You have been such an inspiration to me in my early years. I am 24 now, but began reading your blog at 18. My Mom was seeking a divorce from my Dad around the time I discovered your ministry. She has a strong personality while my Dad has always tended to be passive. I live in Tennessee and convinced my Mom to travel the 1,900 mile round trip with me to Kansas. You were scheduled to speak at a local church and I was desperate for her to hear your testimony hoping she would reconsider the divorce. Sadly, she went through with the divorce and remarried. The Lord, however, is faithful and has turned many of our bad situations into platforms for His glory. He has called me into a women’s ministry much like yours. I not only have the opportunity to talk with wives, but also with daughters about Godly respect for their fathers as the spiritual leader of the family. I was once a very disrespectful daughter, but God has graciously opened my eyes to my own sin and has made the way for change. It can be difficult to share such a ‘radical’ ministry with women in a world that seems so against God’s plan for family. Reading your posts has given me the inspiration to go on. Your willingness to be so open about your journey is one of the main reasons I have a women’s ministry today. I pray for God’s blessings in his next chapter for your life. Thank you for your devotion for all these years. You have helped many women who have felt alone in their situation.

    Your Sister in Christ

    1. Hannah,

Thank you so much for sharing, my sweet sister! Thank you for coming to hear me speak. What a long trip! You had to drive such a long way. I’m so sorry that things didn’t work out for your mom. But what a beautiful thing the Lord is doing in your heart and life!

It is definitely not always a very welcome message in our culture. Talking about God’s design and treating our parents and husbands with honor and respect. But how desperately we need that message now.

I thank God for your ministry and pray that He will empower and lead you to make an eternal impact everywhere you go. May you abide in Him and be fully yielded to His Lordship.

      Blessings, my beautiful sister!

  54. I found your site at one of the lowest spots in my life. You were amazing and helped me more than you could ever imagine. Because of your blog (and a couple others) I have found healing and growing peace in my marriage. I’m thankful and honored to have been a subscriber.

I have been watching the Lord moving His people around, some geographically, some spiritually. He is making big moves with all His people lately. I’m thrilled you know His voice enough to hear.

Thank you for your prayers, efforts and love for us all.

    1. Happily Gave Up,

How wonderful to hear from you! We have shared many conversations here, haven’t we?

Thank you very much for sharing with me. Yes, the Lord is moving a lot of people in new ways.

It’s been such an honor, joy, and blessing to serve you and the other ladies here.

      Much love in Christ!

  55. Hi April
8 years ago I was in the most painful state I’ve ever been in. In desperation but not expecting help, I googled “my husband has completely shut down from me”. I saw your peaceful wife blog and it/you were my lifeline for a long time after. I not only got advice, comfort, understanding, empathy and love from a sweet lady I’ve never met, but who felt like was a trusted friend, but also from the family of ladies (and some men) who wrote in and also msgd me with their own experiences and advice that made me feel not alone and like there was Hope. LMSdaily and humbled husband I’m also talking to you! I know true Hope and help come from our God but he spoke through you and I will always be so thankful.
My husband and I did reunite but it is still a struggle.
I pray the blog can be accessible not only for me to look back to but also for my daughters.
God bless your new season of life. Thank you April.

    1. Michelle!

How great to hear from you! We had a very strong sense of community during that time. It was amazing to see all the interactions in the comments and the way everyone ministered to each other.

Praying for the Lord’s continued work and blessing in your life, marriage, and family for His greatest glory.

Much love to you, my sister!

  56. Thank you so much for sharing your Godly insights with all of us about how to be a peaceful wife. Your site has been a wonderful resource for me and encouragement of how the Lord can and does work in our lives as wives. God’s blessings to you and your family!

    1. Amy,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and encouragement with me today.

May the Lord richly bless you and your family, as well.

      Much love in Christ!

  57. April, I keep your book in my prayer room as a constant reminder to speak gently to my husband and others. I’m thankful for your book ( God told me to buy it and read it ) and all of your awesome YouTube videos which helped me so much in the beginning of my marriage. I pray fruit and blessings over your marriage and family during these uncertain times. I, too, am looking forward to us all gathering together in our Father’s kingdom for our forever party. Until then, let us make the most of every opportunity. Shalom, sister.

    1. Lisa H Young,

It is so good to have frequent reminders of these principles, I think. We all need that!

Thank you for sharing that these posts, books, and videos blessed you.

And thank you for your prayers. I pray the Lord’s leading, favor, peace, blessings, and joy over you and your family, as well.

Yes, may we be faithful every moment until He calls us home.

      Much love to you!

  58. April,
Thank you so much for all of the work you have put into this site! Finding your blog was a turning point in my marriage – almost eight years ago. Your words kickstarted my journey of striving to become a gentle, godly, respectful wife. Though I have been in church my entire life, I had never heard anyone speak so candidly and biblically about what it meant to be a peaceful wife. We will celebrate our 17th anniversary this week and are happier than ever. I owe much of this to what I have learned from you.
I love going back and reading searching and reading on your website whenever I encounter a new situation in our marriage or whenever I need a reminder of truth. Please leave it up if possible! I am not the techy person to help with such things, but I pray that someone will be.
I also am looking forward to meeting you and the celebration we will have when we all get to heaven! Until then, I pray you will continue in God’s grace and that your ministry will bless others as much as it has blessed me.
    Love,
    Sarah

    1. Sarah Rowland,

I’m honored and overjoyed that the Lord would allow me to be a small part of His beautiful work in your life. How I praise God for what He has done! Happy 17th!!! I’m thrilled for you both.

I’m on track to find a way to preserve it and plan to keep it up. Thank you for your prayers.

Yes! What an incredible day that will be!

Thank you for your love, encouragement, and prayers. It means a lot!

      Much love to you!

  59. You will be so missed April but I am so glad you are doing what the Lord is leading you to do with your life. I have been a pretty silent participant since I discovered your site in 2015 but I wanted to pop in and just thank you for everything you have done for not only me but the every other person who read anything you wrote. There was so much love and truth in every post and I want you to know how much you helped me in my walk with the Lord. Your perspectives and guidance taught me more than I can ever thank you for!! Blessings to you and your family and thank you so much for all the time and love you gave us over the years!! <3

    1. Jess Q,

It means a lot to me for you to take the time to share this. Thank you for your thoughts and encouragement. It has been an honor for me to serve the Lord and all of you here.

I praise God for all the good things He has done and will continue to do in your life.

Much love in Christ, my dear sister!

  60. Thank you for always sharing with us. You helped remind me to lean on the Lord during my difficult years. Marriage and raising children is hard enough. Then add struggles. I have always loved your videos and blog. Thank you sweet sister!! Much love to you!!!

    1. Tina Wills,

It is wonderful to hear from you. What an answer to my prayers that the Lord used these posts and videos to bless you.

You are most welcome. May the Lord richly bless you and your family.

      Much love!

  61. April, thank you for these many years of service to us and the Lord through The Peaceful Wife! I still have a yearly reminder on my phone of when I began my Peaceful Wife journey, and today as I read through some of my contributing articles here, I reminisced about the many ways the Lord used you to bless and encourage me along the way. I am so glad we were able to meet in person a few years ago! You are dear to me and I will never forget you! I hope you will be able to find a way to preserve the priceless wisdom here on this website! May the Lord richly bless you as you minister to your family and local body of believers! Many things are shifting in all of our lives, but the steadfast love of the Lord remains consistent and unwavering! May we each remain grounded and stable in Him! -Heather (HisHelper)

    1. Heather T.,

I’m so glad to get to hear from you today. The Lord used your articles in amazing ways and your beautiful love and faith for Christ was always shining through every word. Thank you for being my sister and co-laborer in Christ.

I think I am on track to finding a good solution now to preserve the site. Very grateful!

Yes, God’s love is constant and His promises and Word are sure. No matter what happens, no one can steal His love, gifts, joy, peace, and promises to us. No one can thwart His good plans. May we keep our eyes and hearts set on Him and may we abide in Him, follow after Him, and be full of His Spirit.

Blessings and much love to you!

  62. April, I am so sorry to see you leave, but I understand . I found you via a search engine as well, I don’t recall what it was I’d searched. But I have been so glad to read articles that urge me towards godliness and obedience! Its getting harder to find sound teaching these days and also godly women who are serious about God’s word. I hope you are able to somehow keep your site up. Blessings as you obey.

    1. SevenTimes,

It’s great to hear from you! We have had a lot of discussions over the years. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and encouragement.

Much love in Christ to you!

  63. I am sorry to see you leave! I just found you! I found your book on Amazon and then searched google to find your blog. I hope you are able to leave the site up, as I’ve only started reading it. :). Blessings, Heidi

    1. Heidi,

Oh, goodness! That is sad timing. I’m so thankful to get to hear from you. I am working on keeping the site up and I pray it will be a great blessing to you, my precious sister.

      Much love in Christ!

  64. Dear April,

I teared up while reading this post. Your ministry helped me tremendously when I was somewhat newly married and still trying to figure out how to walk out my role as a biblically submissive wife. I knew and agreed with what the Bible said, but having your resources to refer to, and knowing that a real person had humbled herself and allowed God to do such a thorough work truly helped me to gain my footing. I find myself recommending your book and blog regularly to wives who are struggling.

Thank you for continually being so open and available to your readers. You have helped many women to become more submitted disciples of Jesus Christ. Thanks also to Greg for being open and honest and for encouraging April to step out and share her authentic, lived experiences. There is so much power in doing things God’s way!

May this new season be fruitful and fun and a huge blessing to your family.

Thank you for standing for righteousness.

    With love,
    Growing Up Spiritually

    1. Growing Up Spiritually,

Aw. I’m so sorry that this is a painful thing. It is hard!

It means so much to me to hear your story and that what I shared was a help to you.

Much love to you and may the Lord continue to bless you richly!!!

That is my prayer. That I would stand for righteousness and point people to Jesus and His Light and Life.

  65. Sorry to hear about this wonderful resource coming to end- so please keep your website up!!:) I hope you are doing well and better and excited about your new journey in life. I totally understand life having different seasons, but as o e season ends another begins and sounds like your blessings and talents are needed elsewhere. I always enjoyed reading your posts, especially the ines about how to be a Godly wife and being a better wife! Always good info and you made it easy to understand- and to put into action! Your posts were always so real, like hanging with some good friends and some of the emotions you had in your posts, were not only read, but felt. You will definitely have an impact on women, and others too, wherever the Lord leads you.
You are special and will be missed! Take care!!
    Many Blessings-Sandy R

    1. Sandra R,

I know. It is HARD! And sad! I think we are getting closer to a good solution to preserve the site, so I am very excited about that.

Yes, I believe the Lord is calling me to focus more on my family, my job, my local church, and in-person types of people now. It is exciting!

My family is so excited that I will be able to be more present with them. And I am enjoying working for my family’s business so much. I know that this is where I am supposed to be.

I am also thrilled to get to lead the women’s prayer team at my church. Hearing other women who love Jesus praying out loud together is an incredible blessing.

It is hard to let go of the old season sometimes. But I have been wrestling over this for 3 years and I see that it is time. Still, it’s tough to let go.

But how encouraging to get to have a little recap of so many things God has done over the past 10.5 years. It brings such joy to my heart to get to hear from all of you.

My prayer was to try to be the kind of wife mentor to other wives that I wished I had had early on in my journey. Some of this godly wife stuff is SOOO hard to understand and put into practice. It’s very counter-cultural and counter-intuitive for us women. And so I hope to share what God showed me and show all the little baby steps I had to learn. I wanted to put the dots closer together for those who followed behind me than it was for me. And yes, be a real friend to those who were hurting and struggling and needed some help.

That is my prayer now, yes… that the Lord might use me however He will in my family, at my job, at my local church, and in my community. (And that He will empower all of us to shine brightly for Him wherever He has us.) I also pray He might continue to use the blog, videos, books, and social media posts to bless those who are still seeking Him and the hope and healing the Lord can provide in people’s lives and marriages.

Much love to you, dear sister! <3

  66. I’ve so enjoyed your content as a single, dating, and now married woman with children. Thank you for sharing your heart and wisdom with us. Please keep your content available in whatever format you are able. God bless you.

    1. Anna,

Wow! We have been together a long time. Thank you for being here with me. What a blessing to get to share this road together. I plan to keep things up. We are getting closer to a solution for the blog, I think.

You are most welcome. Thank you for sharing a bit of your story and encouragement with me.

      Much love, dear sister!

  67. Dear April: I don’t want to miss the chance to thank you. You have impacted my life and my family’s in a way that only in Heaven we will able to fully see. I began to read your blog at the beginning of it, when I was just starting in my faith journey, and your advice and encouragement challenged me as a wife even in the most difficult times. You helped me, with God’s grace, to learn how to be the wife I needed to be, and my marriage and family are forever changed because of it. Thank you, and may the Lord keep you . I will always have a prayer in my heart for you. God bless!

    1. Tali,

Wow. Your words bring tears of such joy to my eyes. It’s just amazing that God could take my big mess of a heart and then showcase my mistakes and how He began to heal me and use that to bless you, too. God is so good! He can redeem even our most painful moments and sins and turn it all into something beautiful for His glory and to be a blessing.

Thank you for sharing and for your prayers. There is no better gift!

Much love and a huge hug to you, dear sister!

  68. I thank God for you A, helping me through a season like no other… Guiding my eyes back to the One who is my all in all! To God be the glory! 💓

    1. Glenda,

Aw! It is so great to hear from you. We go way back! What an answer to my prayers. That was exactly what I had hoped to do. Much l ove and blessings to you, my friend!

  69. I have enjoyed so much getting to know you through your books, blog, videos and personal advice, that you gave so generously, over the last 10 years. I pray that God will use you mightily in your family, church and job. I agree with you that woman looking for this kind of advice is not very rare right now, as I find when I try to share it. But, I pray that one day that will be different. I am glad you are keeping your blog up. I really enjoy going back and reading and I pray there will be those women out there seeking and will find your words of wisdom. Take care and may God bless you richly.

    1. Donna Head Topel,

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. Especially for your prayers.

You know, even if there aren’t as many women looking for these things right now, there are still some. And there are also many women who will take what the Lord has done here and His love and Spirit will ripple out and impact many more lives. What a beautiful thought, that God is still at work and still healing people and marriages and families. I can’t wait to see all He has in store for all of us.

Thanks for letting me know that you like to be able to look at the blog still. I’m glad it is a blessing.

Much love to you, dear sister!

  70. Please don’t let the world snuff out your light!!! There are still women who want to hear your messages and there is always more to talk about! I have learned so much from you and have your books. Please keep your site and videos up and accessible! I go back to them often! I hope in the future you will have more time to devote to your online ministry but I do understand your daily and church are your top priorities!! Thank you for being a Godly blessing to women!

    1. Stacy,

I don’t plan to let my light be snuffed out! Thank you for your encouragement. I think we are getting closer to a way for me to preserve the site. I also plan to keep the videos up. And the social media posts. There are thousands of those, too.

Yes, it may be that when our youngest graduates from high school in a few years, or if my job situation changes, that the Lord may open this door for me again.

Thank you for your understanding, love, and sweet thoughts. It has been such an honor to be here with all of you.

      Much love!

  71. April,

Weirdly enough, (but maybe not so weird when God is involved!) I just thought of you this morning as I was reflecting on how much I’ve gone through in my marriage. You were the first one who God used to start teaching me about marriage about 10 years ago or so. Now I see you are moving on to a new chapter.

I am the one who this article is about from a LONG time ago…

    https://peacefulwife.com/2012/11/30/a-wife-discovers-the-joy-and-power-of-obeying-god/

    And this one as well…

    https://peacefulwife.com/2014/04/22/my-husband-wants-to-go-where-2/

    Remember me???

I am sad we lost touch over the years. I was really in the trenches and suffered greatly for years after these articles, but God used your teachings as a foundation. I am happy and ever so grateful to say God totally healed and renewed my marriage after 8 years of waiting. I always wanted to share this with you. It’s so much more than I can type on a comment section… if you ever have a second and want to email me?

I understand you having to move on from this ministry. Maybe you will not have time to keep in touch as I am sure you have many people who are messaging their goodbyes and thank yous. I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart that I am so thankful that you allowed God to use you and that you shared all of your experiences with us. I will always remember you as you encouraged me so greatly. God bless you always, April.

    Love,
    Holly

    1. Holly,

Wow! That sounds like the Lord prompted you at just the right time. Isn’t God amazing?

I remember those conversations vividly. That was a tough situation you were in. Those are some of my favorite posts. God was so clearly at work in you and in your life.

I’m so sorry that things were so difficult and painful. But WOW!!!! How I praise God and rejoice with you that now your marriage is healed!!!!!

      THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!

You have a very special place in my heart. I’m SO grateful that you reached out.

I do want to hear all about everything.

Sending you a huge hug, dear sister.

  72. April, thank you for sharing your heart here. It is hard to say goodbye to a ministry that we’ve poured ourselves into, but when God draws us in new directions, that is where we need to go. May God bless you in all you do.

    1. Chris Taylor,

It is very hard to say goodbye. And yet, I know that it is time. Thank you for your encouragement and prayers.

      Much love in Christ!

  73. Dear April,

I was so sad when I read your goodbye post! I cried. I had just been thinking about you recently, wondering how you were doing since you don’t post as often anymore. I’m glad to hear you and your family are doing well overall.

There is so much I could say, but I will keep it brief. The long and short of it is that you have changed my marriage and my life for the better and I will always be grateful to you for that. It is not an exaggeration to say that I don’t know where I would be without your teachings.

I hope you will figure out a way to save the blog for other women who need it, even if it is just the most popular posts. There is such a wealth of important information here! I’m glad your books are out there, at least. I’m sure they will continue to impact the world for good for many years to come.

I also hope you’ll stay online in some capacity (YouTube or Facebook, etc.), even if you only pop in now and again to say hello. I will miss you and always think about you.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for everything, and best wishes to you and your family going forward. Love,

    Liz M.

    1. Liz M,

I wish I could give you a huge hug! It is sad to say goodbye!!

This has been such a special place for all of us to share and grow together in Christ.

My prayer is to point my sisters (and future sisters in Christ) to Jesus. His wisdom is SOOO much higher than our own. It’s countercultural. It’s against our sinful nature, for sure. And there is an awful lot to unlearn from the world. It’s quite a process, isn’t it?

I am planning to move the blog to a static site where everything will be preserved and available and easy to find at the same domain as I have been using.

Thank you for all your love, encouragement and support.

Much love to you and may the Lord continue to bless and guide you and empower you to shine brightly for Him.

      Blessings, beautiful sister!

      1. Thank you for your kind reply, April, and for always welcoming me here despite my…I don’t know what to call it. Questionable spiritual status? Ha 😊. I do believe in God, and I know He has softened my heart so much over the years. I pray every day. I also know this wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t started reading your blog and the marriage blogs of other devoted Christians. So, thanks for that, too! And I’m so glad to know you’ll be preserving the site for other ladies!! Virtual hugs, friendship, and love to you always,

        Liz M.

        1. Liz M.,
Everyone is welcome here. Including you, my friend! 🙂 Because Jesus welcomes us all and invites us all into His love, care, salvation, and blessing. We all have questions, struggles, doubts, and fears. He meets us where we are. In the midst of our mess and even in the deepest pit where we feel confused and hopeless.

He sure helped me when I was in way over my head and didn’t have a clue which way to turn. I long to help shine that light for other women so that maybe they can find the hope and healing I found, too.

Much love and big hugs to you!

May the Lord bless and keep you and make His face shine upon you. <3 And may He shine the light you need on your path every moment of every day.

  74. You will be missed. Your new chapter that God has for you will be filling with many joys in the journey. I hope you pop in now and then and let us know. Thank you for keeping it up. There are many resources I use through the years that help keep me focused. Blessings to you~ Dee

    1. Dee,

Thank you for sharing your sweet thoughts and encouragement. I’m so thankful the site has been a blessing.

Much love to you, dear sister!

  75. Oh, April, sad to hear that, but understandable. Thank you for your blog, your posts, prayers, ministry, it has helped me a lot as well. May God bless you abundantly and continue leading you, hope you will return at some point later in life. Hugs!

    1. Anna,

I’m very grateful for all the time we were able to share here. Thank you for your understanding and encouragement. May God richly bless you, your family, and the other ladies and their families here, as well.

      Much love!

  76. I’m glad I saw this post and can respond with blessings and well wishes! Most people don’t realize how much time an online ministry like this takes. It’s good that you’re wise enough to prioritize where God is calling you. May you and your family thrive in this new season!

    1. J. Parker,

I’m so glad you were able to share! Yes, it takes a lot of time. I’m so grateful that I was able to give time very generously for many years. Thank you for your encouragement, love, and support.

      Much love to you! <3

  77. Greetings from India, April.. I really liked your blog.. it was really a great blessing.. Thanks a lot for keeping the blog up and not deleting it. Wishing you all the very best..

    1. Anu,

It is so wonderful to hear from you! Thank you for sharing and I am extremely grateful that the blog has been a blessing. Much love to you, dear sister! <3

  78. Dear April, thank you so much for all you have done. I used to be quite active in this community around six years ago, when I had a serious boyfriend and was actively preparing for marriage. When that relationship ended, I stopped being active here and looking at posts because I was so sad and didn’t want to think about relationships for a while. After healing from that heartbreak, I checked your posts on occasion, but as a lurker rather than an active participant. I don’t know if you remember me, but if you do, that’s why I haven’t been around. You were the one who taught me of the importance of respect in marriage, its biblical basis, as well as the fact that often what we think is respectful really isn’t. I hope to carry these skills and this knowledge with me into my marriage, when and if I do get married (I hope I do). You also introduced me to other authors and contributors to this space, and I got to learn from the nuances of how they approach this general issue as well. Laura Doyle has also been helpful to me, and I would not have found her works if you hadn’t suggested them. You have helped this woman to become at least a bit more respectful! 😉 So far the couple of people I have dated since I initially found your blog have found me to be sweet and respectful most of the time 😀 anyway, thanks for all the ways that you have helped me and I’m sure, have also helped my other sisters in Christ. I’m glad you are taking a few years to focus more on your children and husband before your kids go off to college! My own mother did this with me and in hindsight, it was such a blessing 🙂 much love to you! <3

    1. Flower!

Of course I remember you. What a joy to hear from you, my precious sister.

My heart aches to hear about the sadness you experienced.

I enjoyed our conversations so much. You have been a blessing to me. Praying the Lord’s favor, wisdom, blessing, healing, and peace over your heart and life, my beautiful sis!

Thank you so much for sharing. And even for the encouragement about what your own mom did for you. That is very special!

      Sending you the biggest hug.
      Much love!!!
